Mike runs a marathon on Everest for the Rose Bowl!

It may seem a bit extreme to send Jane’s husband Michael Phoenix on the world’s highest marathon to raise funds, but he honestly did volunteer! Mike will be tackling Mount Everest on 29 May on the anniversary of Tensing and Hilary’s ascent. Not only will he trek up to the base camp; but in aid of the Rose Bowl, he will be running a gruelling marathon to the bottom of Everest. Mike hopes to raise £10,000 with your help. Open garden, Sunday 27 May

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Lamberts opening their garden for the National Gardens Scheme. They have kindly agreed to donate a share of the profits to the Friends of the Rose Bowl. This year, there will be a new, bigger conservatory and the renowned teas will be better than ever! The New River curves around the garden, and glimpses of the water bring in reflections and light. Clipped plants keep things in order, pots reclaim space for colour, and old-fashioned roses grow along the river. There will be plants for sale carefully chosen for all seasons.

Auction 2012 – thank you for your support!

Our Annual Dinner and Gala Auction held on 23 February raised the amazing amount of over £18,500 which is even better than last year! Added to donations, this is more than half of the amount we have committed to fund the Rose Bowl this year. We are very grateful for the generosity of all our supporters. Our thanks also go to The Canonbury for their continued support.
